Most popular area to stay in Tulum is on one of their private beaches. You will need to stay in a resort or a hotel located on one of Tulum's private beaches in order to access it. If you would like to stay on the beach, but with more budget friendly options the public beach is the way to go. This areas beaches are known to be more rocky with less of the white sand than the private beaches. There is not as much going on on in this side of town and if you want to get the full exotic beach experience, you will have to commute over to the private beach areas.
This is the most authentic area of Tulum you will find. This area is where many locals live, there are shops, restaurants, taco stands and locally owned businesses. This area is best for the bride and her crew looking to experience Tulums culture. It is also budget friendly and where you will find some authenic mexican cuisine!
